About the Artwork

The Pink Layer is a reflection on healing and reclaiming parts of ourselves we were taught to shrink from. They say, as a woman, the more you heal, the more you start to like pink again.

This painting is built in layers of oil, wax, oil stick, and sand. It’s bold, imperfect, and unapologetic—a symbol of taking up space as a woman.

Pink is not weakness. It is defiance. And maybe, if the theory is right, in the final layer of healing, the brightest pink shines through again.
